The ways in which family social environments affect development is a central question of our group\'s research efforts. Our NIH project is predicated upon testing the impact of caregiving by mothers, fathers, and siblings on marmosets from early infancy to adulthood. Our measures of development include morphological (somatic growth), reproductive (puberty and sexual maturation), behavioral, and social.
The marmoset of the month(s) for January and February 2005 is Acorn, shown here at one day of age. She has just undergone a series of body measurements and is about to be returned to her home cage.
