Teams of students from the Public Affairs Reporting class, along with
nine metro-area high school students, are traveling throughout the
Omaha area and Iowa today connecting with community members
as they engage in this nation's democratic process. This newsblog is produced by a team of students and faculty in the School of Communication at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Back in our newsrooms, journalism students and faculty are linking with reporters in the field and editing copy for our newsblog (below) and online news site.
Equipped with cell phones and digital cameras, the students' goal is
to give voice - yours, not theirs - to our election process by focusing
on the voters not the vote. Travel along with them tonight as they
experience first-hand our media's and community's roles in democracy.
You may notice a friend or family member showing up in our newsblog.
You can be sure you will not notice biased reporting or last-minutes vote
wrangling. Our focus is on Democracy at Work and the most important
people in that process - YOU!
