In 2002 he completed his Ph.D. from the Iliff School of Theology and the University of Denver. His dissertation was on the story of Susanna and its aesthetic Renaissance interpretations, and will soon be published by Continuum Publishers. His research interests include artistic, musical, and literary interpretations of biblical literature as well as the intersection between the Bible and culture. Along these lines, he has presented and published on topics such as D.W. Griffith's film Judith of Bethulia, Camille Saint-Saens' opera Samson et Dalila, the NBC drama Law & Order, and the presentation of Hanukkah in such shows as Friends and South Park. Along with
spending time with his family he enjoys collecting classical
music, and currently has a library
of approximately one thousand recordings. |
