Kalam, Swat District, North-West Frontier Province, Pakistan, spring 1978, ©Luke Powell 2006, (LP17.01.03).

The great animist temple was left intact and converted to a mosque when the area was subdued by Islam. The white wall and mirhab were added after the mass conversions and executions were complete. Visible in front of the building are the remains of supports for wooden water channels that no longer exist.
