bb15     MSF

Out in the farthest reaches where other medical services are non-existent one often finds Medecins Sans Frontieres serving the people. This is not a beautiful photograph, but I decided to use it, because MSF really is out there in the mud. While I was working on this picture, turning, cropping, balancing and cleaning the image file, I heard on the news of the murder of three international and two local MSF workers in Badghis Province of Afghanistan. MSF has pulled out of Afghanistan, for by mid 2004 it had become more dangerous for aid workers than it was during the civil war or during the time of the Taliban.

This is the last photograph in the Taliqan chapter. The next chapter is called Faizabad.
