ba01 Band-i-Zulfiqar
In 1973 the Government of Afghanistan declared that Band-i-Amir was to be the country's first National Park, but the declaration was never published, and therefore never became law. There are six lakes, and this one is the largest, Band-i-Zulfiqar (Dam of the Sword of Ali).
